According to a recent article in So Glos, there are a few things to look out for if you’re planning to revamp this area of your home in the coming months.

Top of the list is the trend for industrial materials, such as polished concrete. However, the news provider notes that you can get more kitchen-friendly options that give this effect without actually being polished concrete.

If that trend is stark and austere, the next one is the opposite – the idea of bringing the outside in. Think having plenty of plants dotted around your kitchen and dining space, using colours and prints that mirror

leaves and trees, and installing doors that open into your garden from your kitchen if this is an option in your home.

Metallics and copper are also still big in the world of kitchens – and can tie in particularly well with an industrial-themed space. The magazine suggests “scaffolding-style shelving, pipework brackets and copper accessories” if this is the route you want to go down.

Brighter colours are also making a resurgence in kitchen design, the news provider noted, with bright yellows and dark blues highlighted as some of the most popular shades.

Rather than reaching for a can of bright yellow paint though, you may want to consider having a relatively neutral kitchen design but introducing colour through accessories, such as appliances like fridges, cookers and even toasters.
