The Great British Bake Off is returning nest week so we thought we'd share three pieces of equipment to help you create your own Bake Off-style treat...
Most people will not deny the fact that they have a sweet tooth. In fact, you might be one of those people that looks at the desserts on a restaurant menu before you’ve even ordered your starter or main. If you’ve recently purchased an ex-display kitchen for a new home, then you will no doubt be in a baking mood.
You know what will make you want to eat something sweet? Well, the Great British Bake Off is returning on August 28th. Here are three pieces of equipment to help you create your own Bake Off-style treat.
Ramekins are one of the best ways of creating some fantastic desserts for a meal, ranging from a crème brûlée to cheese soufflés. However, you might find them to be effective outside of baking, too. For example, you could use them to hold your different dessert toppings or even miniature mixing bowls for eggs whites.
You will know that different desserts might require a lot of whipping to achieve the perfect levels of consistency needed. If you’re putting so much time into making some tasty treats, then you don’t want to be let down with the final product when it doesn’t look like the image in a cookbook you’re following. Instead, buy a stand mixer and allow it to achieve that right consistency for you.
Non-stick baking mat
There will be no doubt that you’ve made your dessert in the past and forgot to grease the surface of a baking tray. It will end in disaster for both your friends and family waiting for one of your freshly baked cookies and the part where you’re scrubbing the tray to remove the burnt bits stuck to it. Of course, this can all be avoided by owning a non-stick mat.
